JUMO gets it done – we are shaping the future
The result of the employee campaign “Work of art JUMO gets it done” will be presented during the employee party. Industrial/technical apprentices at the Fulda site have been working together to organize creative workshops since the fall of 2022.
The team will start work on their art project at the start of our anniversary year and an internal company exhibition of the art piece is planned for the second half of the anniversary year.
It’s not the destination, it’s the journey
The quote attributed to Confucius, “It’s not the destination, it’s the journey,” applies to no other anniversary campaign to the same extent as it does to our JUMO artwork. After all, a water well model was created out of nothing, so to speak, which perfectly depicts the motto “People and technology on the move”.
The path to this point was paved with numerous workshops in which even fundamental questions such as “What is a work of art anyway?” were discussed. Many ideas were brought up and discarded until the participating apprentices finally agreed on a water well.
This decision turned out to be very successful in the form of a cascade along with several water bowls, which are illuminated in a warm white color when overflowing. The water well is controlled by the JUMO variTRON 500 automation system, which receives the signal for the overflow into the next basin from the JUMO float switches that are installed in each bowl.
During the implementation our technical departments supported the young artists with advice and support. However, the project was implemented exclusively by the apprentices. We’d like to convey our heartfelt thank you to all involved.
